Red Vine
Many adults, in particular women, suffer from circulatory problems. Phytotherapy offers various means of treating venous insufficiency, improving the resistance of vein walls and even stimulating venous contraction.
This is in fact the role of Red Vine.
The circulation plant
This ligneous, climbing species, obtained from vineyards used in the dyeing industry, is the plant par excellence for circulatory problems (heavy legs, varicose veins, haemorrhoids or circulatory disorders related to the menopause).
The leaf contains anthocyanosides, from which it gets its characteristic blood-red colour in autumn. These anthocyanosides have remarkable vitamin P activity, reducing capillary permeability and increasing their strength. Venous stasis is thus avoided. This angioprotective action is reinforced by the presence of astringent, vasoconstricting tannins that promote venous circulation.
Among these tannins, proanthocyanidols are active against free radicals. They stabilise the collagen present in vessel membranes.
